Psychiatry & therapy for BIPOC women in AZ, FL, NY, MA, MN & IL

You deserve an authentic space to cultivate your peace.

Holistic mental health treatment that centers your needs as a Black woman.

Your experience as a woman of color is unique. Your care should be, too.

Studies show us that a lack of culturally competent care can lead to misdiagnosis or underdiagnosis of mental health disorders. I want to see that change and provide you the level of informed, responsive care you deserve.

I’m here as your advocate and your guide.

  • Black women and women of color are at disproportionately higher risk for pregnancy complications, maternal death, and other pregnancy-related challenges compared to white women.

As your psychiatrist, I’ll support you throughout your pregnancy with medication management, trauma-informed birth planning sessions, and ensuring that your labor or birth wishes and preferences are honored.

  • There’s no manual for motherhood. Receive support as you grow into your new role and all the challenges, triumphs, and changes that come with it.

You may also be experiencing fear, doubts, or questions about giving birth to another minority person. I’m here to help you process these very real concerns through the lens of what it means to be a Black person in America today.

  • Black people are inundated by images of suffering and expectations of pain, especially when it comes to medical care, pregnancy, and birth. In our time together, we’ll work to center the beauty of the Black experience.

  • Structural racism is at play in nearly every area of your life, and it impacts your mental health. As part of our work together, we’ll consider things like access to sleep, childcare, and affordable medication. I’ll help you explore new or creative solutions so you can feel supported in all the ways you need to thrive.
