Comprehensive women’s mental health treatment in AZ, FL, NY, MA, MN & IL

Receive support in the midst of change.

Prioritize your wellness with psychotherapy in conjunction with medication management.

You don’t have to go through life feeling like you’re in survival mode.

Psychotherapy can offer a place to look at your current and past experiences from new perspectives and receive support as you move into the next chapter of your life. Let’s look at your wellness beyond just the biology.

How it works

Together, we can address each part of your mental health & wellness.

  • We’ll start by getting on the same page: what is bringing you to therapy, what are our goals for incorporating medication, and what would it look like to truly feel “better?”

We’ll discuss your past history with both psychotherapy and medication, the current challenges you’re facing, and what you hope to get out of this process. You and I will collaborate on a treatment plan that maps out how we’re going to get there.

  • Then, we’ll begin meeting regularly (weekly or biweekly) to begin working toward your goals. We’ll look at the things you’re experiencing in your life and how you can begin to look at them from new angles, respond in different ways, and implement tools & strategies to help manage them.

  • During each visit, we’ll also check in on how the meds are going, including side effects, dosage, and anything you are noticing. This allows us to keep a close eye on how you’re responding to medication and make any adjustments that can help you feel even better.

I believe your story matters.

Therapy is an opportunity to put words and language to your own experiences—including the things you may not have shared out loud before. As a physician with a background in Narrative Medicine, I believe that your story forms the foundation of our work together. I am trained in psychodynamic therapy and tie in elements of supportive therapy as well as Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) depending on your needs and goals.

This is a space where you can feel seen, heard, and held as you engage in the powerful process of looking at your life and experiences from new perspectives.

Frequently asked questions

  • Narrative medicine is a commitment to humanistic healthcare. It recognizes that the practice of medicine unfolds in stories, and that empathetic listening can really connect doctors to their patients. Studies show that the stronger the therapeutic relationship, the more successful the treatment.

My background in Narrative Medicine allows me to center each patient’s own story in their treatment. It’s about helping you put words to your own experience and helping you make decisions from a place of expertise in your own life. As your doctor and therapist, I am here to listen to your story and to support you in owning the narrative of your life.

  • As a reproductive psychiatrist and specialist in women’s mental health, I have deep expertise and training in conditions that uniquely impact women and supporting them at the intersection of their mental health and hormonally driven transitions in their lives.
